If you are struggling right now — with depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, or just the weight of getting through the day — please know that what you are feeling is real, you are not broken, and there are people who genuinely care about you.
Ready Health has partnered with EPiC Hope, Wigan's leading crisis support charity, to make sure no one in our community has to face their darkest moments alone.
Drop-in safe spaces for people in acute crisis — non-clinical, non-judgemental
Regular peer support gatherings across the Wigan borough
Volunteers who go directly into the community where need is highest
Dedicated peer support for men — because men matter too
If you've landed on this page, something brought you here. Maybe you're struggling and didn't know where to turn. Maybe you're worried about someone you love. Whatever the reason — you did the right thing by looking for help. That takes courage, and we see that in you.
About EPiC Hope
EPiC Hope CIC was founded in Wigan with one powerful purpose: to make the borough a suicide-safer community. Every seven days, someone in Wigan dies by suicide. EPiC Hope exists to change that — not through clinical distance or bureaucracy, but through human connection, compassion, and showing up for people in their worst moments.
Physical safe spaces across Wigan where anyone in crisis can walk in, be welcomed without judgement, and find peer support from people who truly understand.
Many of EPiC Hope's volunteers have their own lived experience of mental health crisis. They don't just listen — they understand from the inside.
Mobile suicide prevention harbours deployed directly to motorway bridges and high-risk areas — meeting people at their most critical moments.
Winner of the Prestige Awards UK Mental Health Non-Profit of the Year 2025, and Silver Award at the Wigan Borough Business Awards — a charity that delivers real impact.

I walked into a harbour not knowing what to expect. I was at the lowest point of my life. The people there didn't flinch, didn't judge, didn't try to fix me with paperwork. They just sat with me. That was enough to get me through the night — and then through many more nights after that.

Common Questions
No. You can walk into a harbour if you're struggling with low mood, loneliness, anxiety, or simply need someone to talk to. You don't need to be in acute crisis. The harbours exist for anyone who needs a safe space — at any point along the mental health journey.
EPiC Hope's harbour services are completely free to access. There are no referral requirements, no waiting lists for drop-in services, and no means testing. The charity is funded through donations and community support. There are no catches.
You can complete a referral on behalf of someone else. The EPiC Hope referral form allows third-party referrals. If someone is in immediate danger, please call 999. If you're concerned but it's not an emergency, use the referral form or contact the Crisis Harbour directly on 07483 186351 during opening hours.
Ready Health is a private clinical healthcare provider offering medical and therapeutic services including mental health assessments, ADHD evaluations, and counselling. EPiC Hope is a community charity providing crisis harbour drop-ins, peer support, and community outreach — all free of charge. Our partnership means we can connect patients with the right level of support, whether that's clinical care or community connection.
Absolutely not. EPiC Hope was built on the principle that every life matters and that judgement has no place in mental health support. Many of the volunteers have their own lived experience of crisis. You will be met with warmth, compassion, and complete acceptance — whoever you are and whatever you're going through.
Yes. Ready Health offers private mental health services including ADHD assessment, depression and anxiety counselling, and clinical consultations.
