NHS eligibility is set each season and in recent years has been limited to groups such as older adults, care home residents and people with a weakened immune system. Check the NHS website or ask your GP or pharmacist. If you are not eligible, or prefer a private appointment, you can book with us.
How long after my last COVID-19 vaccine can I have another?
There is usually a minimum gap of around three months since your last COVID-19 vaccine dose. Tell us when you had your last dose and the clinician will confirm at your consultation that it is the right time for you.
I have recently had COVID-19. When can I be vaccinated?
You should wait until you have fully recovered before having your vaccine. Let us know when you tested positive or were unwell and the clinician will advise on the best timing for you.
Can I have the COVID-19 vaccine and the flu jab at the same time?
Yes. UK guidance supports giving the COVID-19 and flu vaccines at the same visit, usually one in each arm. Our flu vaccination is booked separately – please see our flu vaccination page or call us to arrange both together.
What are the common side effects?
Most side effects are mild and settle within a day or two: a sore arm, tiredness, headache, aching muscles, chills or a mild temperature. Serious allergic reactions are very rare, and our clinicians are trained to manage them. We ask you to wait briefly after your vaccination before you leave.
Are there any rare side effects I should know about?
Very rare cases of inflammation of the heart (myocarditis or pericarditis) have been reported after some COVID-19 vaccines, mostly in younger men and usually mild. Seek urgent medical help if you develop chest pain, shortness of breath or a pounding or fluttering heartbeat in the days after vaccination.
Can I have the COVID-19 vaccine if I am pregnant?
UK guidance considers COVID-19 vaccination suitable in pregnancy. Please tell us if you are pregnant or breastfeeding and the clinician will discuss it with you at your consultation.
How long does the appointment take?
Allow around 15 to 20 minutes. This covers a short health consultation, your vaccination and a brief rest afterwards before you leave.
