You should be able to do most normal activities during your 24-hour BP test – you should just take care not to get the unit wet or disconnect the cuff from the reader. Try to go about your daily life as you normally would, as this will give the most accurate reading of your blood pressure on an average day. Your clinician will show you how to fit the device that you loan from us, and then it’s down to you to keep it on for a full 24 hours. It should take readings at regular intervals, and less often through the night so you aren’t disturbed as much. Most people are able to get to sleep while wearing the monitor, but you might find it helpful to have an early, relaxing night to get you in the right mindset for rest, as a bad night can affect your blood pressure.
