Private sexual health screening

Both men and women can get a full sexual health assessment and we fully encourage it. We also recommend you report any positive results to recent partners if you feel safe enough to do so.

Private STI testing

We can test for a wide range of STIs here at Ready Health. From asymptomatic conditions like chlamydia, to ones that might be a more obvious when left untreated.

When you should get tested depends on when you last had unprotected sex with someone of an unknown health status. Most STI tests won’t show an infection straight away, as it can take a few weeks to be detectable in your system.

We advise coming to see us around 6-8 weeks after you last slept with someone, or at 3 months to be completely sure any infection will be showing in your system. While it can be a long time to wait for peace of mind, it’s unfortunately the only way you’ll know for sure whether or not you need treatment.

Sexual health advice

Thankfully, a vast majority of STDs can be managed or treated now, so if your results come back positive, our clinicians will be able to advise you on your next steps. In some cases, it might mean starting antibiotics or post-exposure prophylaxis, but in most cases you should be able to clear any infection or become undetectable and unable to transmit it in the future.

As part of your appointment price, you’ll also receive a detailed report of your results – usually within 48 hours or less.
