Important Information Regarding Mounjaro®▼ (tirzepatide) Price Changes
We would like to update our patients and community regarding Mounjaro®▼ (tirzepatide), a treatment manufactured by Eli Lilly & Company. From 1st September 2025, Lilly will be increasing the UK list price of Mounjaro to bring it in line with prices across Europe and other developed countries.
We understand that changes to medication pricing can feel concerning. Our priority is to keep you informed, support you through this transition, and continue to provide the highest standard of care at a fair and transparent cost.
Why is the price of Mounjaro increasing?
Lilly have confirmed that the UK list price will rise from September 2025 following a review of international pricing. When Mounjaro first launched in the UK, it was introduced at a significantly lower cost than the European average, to ensure rapid access for NHS patients during a period of limited supply of GLP-1 RA treatments for type 2 diabetes.
Since then, new clinical evidence has further demonstrated the effectiveness and value of Mounjaro. To ensure fair global contributions to the cost of innovation and ongoing research, the UK list price is now being aligned more closely with that of other developed countries.
Why must the UK price be in line with Europe?
Having a much lower price in the UK compared to other countries creates risks of illegal parallel exporting, where UK supply is redirected abroad for profit. This not only disrupts the supply chain but can also threaten availability for UK patients.
By adjusting the price, Lilly aims to safeguard supply for patients here in the UK and prevent disruption caused by unlawful export activity.
What does this mean for our patients?
While the medication itself remains unchanged, its cost will increase nationwide from September. This applies across all private providers, including clinics, pharmacies, and digital services.
At Ready Health Standish, we have worked hard to absorb as much of the increase as possible and keep our prices fair and accessible. However, from 1st September 2025, we will need to adjust our charges for Mounjaro in line with the manufacturer’s changes.
